Just Do ONE Thing at a Time

Often times when I look at a list of the tasks that need to get for the day I start to feel overwhelmed. I don't know where to begin. It all feels like a massive snowball tearing down a mountain ready to bury me in a day of complete idleness.

But a funny thing happens when I don't look at the whole list and instead just focus on one task at a time. If I can do just one thing to move my project forward as best I can then before long I'm on to the next one. I may not end up getting everything done, but certainly more than I thought possible when first staring into a seemingly endless agenda.

Pick one thing. Do it with intention. Rinse and repeat.

Sharpen Your Intent

The other day I caught myself asking someone how they were doing and failing to hear their response. Instead, I plowed through continuing to talk about whatever was on my agenda, however trivial.

I realized that true listening is the gateway to a heightened sense of self-awareness. Listening with intention informs virtually everything we do.

Today, make the effort to sharpen your intent when interacting with others and see how it affects your communication and cultivates stronger relationships.

You may be surprised by what you discover.
