100 Years of Wisdom

Author Thomas Mann once wrote, "At thirty a man steps out of the darkness and wasteland of preparation into active life; it is the time to show oneself, the time of fulfillment."

That may sound like a high bar, but Mann's broader point was each decade of our lives ushers in a new set of hopes, expectations, and if we're fortunate, realizations.

According to Joshua Prager, author of 100 Years: Wisdom from Famous Writers on Every Year of Your Life we can take great comfort in knowing someone else experienced similar hangups and joys with numbers we're conditioned to believe mean something.

In his popular TED Talk: Wisdom from great writers on every year of life, Prager uses the words of great writers to tell us who we've been, who we are, and hopefully, who we can still become.
